Nomads Korfball Club were founded in 1972 by a group of players set on building a young successful club to challenge the established teams in the London area.
Since that time, Nomads KC has grown along with British Korfball and we now have six teams playing throughout the EKA leagues.
Nomads KC are based in the South London and North Surrey area. The club plays all of their outdoor fixtures at Cheam Sports Club where they share excellent outdoor facilities with the cricket, hockey and football teams.
Indoor matches are played at Epsom College.
Training is open to players of all levels from the complete beginner upwards, so feel free to come along and see what it is all about.
Meanwhile, check out korfball.tv for some footage of Korfball being played at the top level and the “Discover Korfball” section of the EKA Website for a condensed run through of the basics of Korfball.
Nomads train every Monday (Club Training at Sutton Grammar) Wednesday (Squad Training at Epsom College) throughout the season which runs from September to April and from April until August outdoors training at Cheam Sports Club begins for those wanting to keep fit, keep korfing and keep in form for the summer tournaments.
info@nomadskorf.com is contact e-mail address for any questions you may have about the club and training.
Nomads KC also host Cheam Sports Club’s largest regular Summer Event with their annual tournament on the first Sunday of June each year and this year the club successfully put on an even larger event; the National Youth Day Tournament, a huge junior Korfball tournament.
The fact that events like these go on without hitch year after year is a testament to the commitment and hard work of Nomads members.
The 2008-2009 season saw Nomads return to the National League after one season away having had a season that highlighted not only the talent within the club but also the collective drive, commitment and club spirit that makes Nomads so unique compared to other clubs with more transient and ironically more Nomadic membership!
Join Nomads and you tend not leave!
